A Busy Week

We had a very busy week. Actually, it was mostly Thursday and Friday. This was the first week of my summer break. I can't believe how busy I have been. I still have to get Autumn up and ready for school and I am trying to regain weed control in my garden. I am excited that the school year is winding down. We have had a lot of school activities this week. Here is a summary of events.

Kindergarten Program
Autumn has been attending all day kindergarten this year and has really enjoyed it. There are 4 classes this year and each class wore a different colored shirt. Their program focused of the four seasons. Each class recited a poem about a different season and they all sang a few songs. They even learned to "sign" one of their songs. This is the only picture I got because I was videoing and forgot to hand Brian the camera. Oh well. After they got class awards and diplomas.

Preschool Graduation
Brooklyn's preschool had their graduation and end of year party. Brooklyn got the award for being the most expressive. They could always tell what mood she was in, whether she was happy, sad, or mad. It didn't surprise me.

Kindergarten Field Trip to Willow Park
Today we went to Willow park with all the kindergarten classes. The different colored t-shirts for each class made it easy to tell which kids belonged where. We had a lot of fun.

Brooklyn, Marci, Autumn, Sydnee
This was my group that I took around. Brooklyn got a shirt to make it easy to tell that she belonged in our group. She felt pretty special being a part of Autumn's class.

Hunter enjoyed walking around and making animal noises at the different animals that we saw. This is the first time he has been able to enjoy looking at the animals.

We got to go to a special animal presentation. The kids got to see a hawk, owl, and a snake.

Hunter fell asleep while eating lunch.
It was a hot day but we still had fun. We all got to eat pizza after and then the kids played on the playground.

Mother's Day Pictures

For Mother's Day this year I wanted to put together something special for all the Grandmas. Kristin and I took the kids out to different places to snap some fun pictures. There were so many beautiful flowers out. We had a lot of fun. I don't think we did too bad and got some pretty cute photos. I put together a collage of the kids' pictures and gave them as presents. Everyone really enjoyed them.

I can't believe how quickly kids grow up. They don't stay little for long! :(

Fun at the park

It has been such nice weather outside these past few days. We could not waste the opportunity to go to the park and have a little fun outside. We went to the park with Kristin. The kids had a lot of fun and were not happy when we had to go home.

A time of happiness, A time of Sorrow

This past week has been one of joy and sorrow. Easter is the time of year that reminds us of the atonement of Jesus Christ. I know that because of his sacrifice, we will be able to live with our Father in Heaven again. Life is such a precious gift and sometimes it ends way too soon. We learned this all too well. My cousin, Jason and wife Tricia lost their baby boy Lucus. Yesterday I attended his funeral where I played the song "I am a Child of God." I know that he is in a better place. I am grateful for the knowledge of the gospel. I know that the lord will watch over and comfort his family. I know they will be together again.

Easter Traditions

Easter is a fun time of year. We enjoy spending time with family and just having fun together. It was beautiful weather this year for most of our activities. It has been a long time since we were able to enjoy warm weather for our Easter activities. Here are a few of the traditions we enjoy.

Nibley City Easter Egg Hunt
Every year we go to the park for a big Easter egg hunt. It was a little chilly for the first little while but at least it didn't rain.

Coloring Easter eggs.

Every year we color Easter eggs with my family. This year were were able to do it at my house. The kids really enjoyed decorating and dying eggs.

Autumn showing off one the dozens of eggs that we colored Saturday afternoon.
Brooklyn "cheesing" it for me while coloring her eggs.

Even Hunter got to color a few eggs.

Rolling Easter Eggs
One of my favorite Easter traditions is rolling Easter eggs down Old Main Hill. It is a tradition that I enjoyed when I was young. When Autumn was little, we started the tradition up again with our family. The kids really enjoy it. I don't know how, but I think every year it ends in a egg fight. I stay clear and try not to get involved. This year, I think Brooklyn started it.

Hunter had a blast throwing his eggs down the hill. He always had a great big smile on his face!

Easter Egg Hunt at Grandma & Grandpa McBride's House

It is always fun finding lots of eggs and getting lots of candy. But the best thing about Grandpa's egg hunt is not all the eggs are full of candy. Some eggs have money in them. This year we had Brian's brother Chad visiting from California with his 4 kids and Brian's sister Kristi with her 3 kids. I think each kid ended up getting about $2.50.

Birthday Boy!! 1 Year Old!!

My little boy turned one Monday March 30th. I can't believe how big he is getting. He is always into everything. But it is a lot of fun watching him grow and learn everyday. He is getting so smart. He is learning some baby signs. It makes it nice to kind of know what he wants. He knows the sign for eat, milk, dad, ball, more, and bath. They aren't perfect yet but he is getting better everyday
We ended up having two birthday parties for Hunter. My parents realized that they were going to be out of town on his birthday so we celebrated with my family the Friday before. That way my sister Natalie could also be there with us. We had a lot of fun. Hunter loved opening presents and playing with his new toys. But I think he liked eating his birthday cake the most. Hunter is trying to sign the word baby.

Hunter got a new truck from Natalie and her kids. I wish I would have taken out his binkie because he had the biggest grin. You can still see his big smile behind the big binkie

Hunter playing with his new truck. He even makes a motor sound when he drives it around.
He is definitely all boy!

First bite of birthday cake.

Hunter enjoying he birthday cake at my mom's house. What a messy boy!

Yum!!

What's inside?

New toys!!! Trucks and Four-wheelers!!

Hunter and his new cup and Spiderman slippers.

Hunter got a sword from Dad, Autumn and Brooklyn.
He likes to walk around getting people with it.

I made his cake into a soccer ball because he loves balls. Everytime he sees a ball he makes the sign for it. It wasn't beautiful, but it still tasted good and Hunter liked it.

Cleanup after cake. A sink bath!
