Hunter's "New Look"

Natalie bought Autumn and Brooklyn some headbands to match their new dresses. We are going to do family pictures and her girls have some just like it. I went into the girls bedroom to find Hunter sporting Brooklyn's headband. Brooklyn had decided to try it out on Hunter. I guess he didn't mind too much. He was sitting on Autumn"s bed watching a movie. I took him into the front room to show Brian Hunter's "new look." It kind of makes him look like a little girl. It was so funny, I had to snap some quick pictures of him on my phone.
Hunter wearing Brooklyn's new red headband. It even matched his outfit!!
"Cheese!!" Hunter would say as I tried to take a good picture.
He kept moving so it turned out kind of blurry, but still cute.

Valentine's Day Dance

Our Stake had a Valentine's Day Dinner and Dance catered by Cafe' Rio. It was a lot of fun. The other couples at our table were so funny!! They really kept us entertained. We sat with Shawn and Kim Thompson, John and Elaine Olsen and The Little's. Kristin and Jerel showed up a little later.
There was an entertaining floor show after dinner and then they taught us a Latin dance. Throughout the night we were able to practice what we learned. We ended the night after the pinata'. It was nice to able to spend sometime with Brian.
Kristin took this picture of us on her phone.
P.S. Brian is in a beard growing contest so it will be a while before I see him without a beard! It goes until July!! I'll have to post some pictures as it grows.

Boarding Trip Attempt 1

Kristin invited us to go snowboarding with her on a Monday which is her day off. My mom was willing to take my kids but I wasn't sure if I would be able to find a substitute to take my reading groups. I made a call and was able to get someone. I got all of our stuff together and the next morning I hurried and got the kids ready, drop Autumn off to school and the kids at my mom's. We picked up Kristin at her apartment and headed to Beaver Mountain. I haven't boarded since Brooklyn was a baby. I wasn't sure how well I would do after 5 years. We got up to the mountain and hung out in the patrol lodge 'till we were all ready. The bonus of having your dad on the ski patrol is getting free tickets. (Which I was really grateful that we didn't spend an arm and a leg for, I'll explain later)
We hop onto the Gentle Ben ski lift and were heading up for our first run. Kristin snapped a few pics of us on the lift. Don't ask why Brian is wearing a ball cap over his ski hat and then wearing his sweater hood on top of that. He can be kind of a dork sometimes.
We start heading down the hill and Kristin seemed to end up on her butt a lot. So we took some time to snap some pictures while we were down on the ground. Kristin can be a dork too but we still love her!!
As we were taking some pictures Brian headed for a jump. It ended up being tons of powder and ended up face planting in the snow. He disappeared completely!! It was so funny to watch him emerge from the powder with snow packed between his hat and goggles!!

So we continue down Gentle Ben (keep in mind we haven't gone down the steeper section of the run). As we a going down, Kristin ends up falling on her butt and kind of twisted her wrist. We stopped and took a little break. I asked if she was okay. She said she was and we continued down the hill. We headed towards the new lift ski area because I have never been over there. There was a little hill you have to go up before dropping down to the lift. I needed to get a good running start at it because I didn't want to have to hop up the hill. I take off, but noticed Kristin go down at the entrance of the hill. I wait for everyone to catch up. Kristin had once again landed on her wrist and it was hurting.

We ride the lift up to the top. Get buckled back into our boards when the ski patrol ride by. We ask if they have anything she could wrap her wrist in so she wouldn't continue to hurt it. AND THEN IT STARTS!!!
The Ski patrol start checking her wrist to see where it is hurt. They decide that it needs to be put in a metal brace to keep it from moving and to take her down the hill to have a better look.

So they load her up into the toboggan. Talk about closterphobic!! (I don't know how to spell that)

So, there is Kristin all covered up inside the ski patrol toboggan. Brian was taking pics and thought it would be funny if I pointed at her and smiled!! It was quite a sight seeing them take off down the hill with her.

SO, They get her to the bottom of the hill and we end up back in the ski patrol lodge doing an accident report. Trying to explain where each event happened. The ski patrolmen think her wrist could possibly be broke and we should take her down to have it x-rayed before it swells. Needless to say, we took one run down the mountain and then had to head home (which explains why I was grateful that we didn't pay for tickets to make only 1 run).

After Kristin being checked out at InstaCare, we found out that her wrist was only sprained :(

So we plan ANOTHER trip to go the Monday after the Superbowl. I get a substitute and was ready to go. But of course something else has to go wrong to foil my plans. I ended up really sick that day and Brian got it that night!! Oh well!! We will try again and maybe that time we will actually be able to spend some time on the mountain!

Brooklyn's Birthday Pictures

I was finally able to take Brooklyn in to get her birthday pictures. I finally had a day where Brian could watch the other kids. I got her all ready and took her into the mall. I usually get her pictures at Kiddie Kandids, but their doors were closed. I later found out that the day I took Brooke in was the day they went bankrupt. I was bummed out not knowing where I could take her. So I decided to try JC Pennys. They turned out pretty cute and were a lot cheaper to buy!

Silly pose!!!

I can't believe how fast they grow up. They sure don't stay little for long!

Christmas!!

Christmas was really fun this year. Hunter was old enough to get excited for it. Every time he saw a picture of Santa he would have to tap my arm and get my attention and then have to tell me it that it was Santa. Any picture of a man with a long white beard he would call Santa. He even had a Little Peoples Noah which he still calls Santa.

We had our tradition of opening one present on Christmas Eve over at Brian's parents house. Every year the kids get pajamas that the open up on Christmas even. Here is all the kids showing off their new p.j.s. All of my pictures ended up a little dark but you can still see them okay.

Christmas morning was a lot of fun. We got a new puppy on Christmas Eve so Autumn enjoyed showing her off to everyone. It took a while before she had a name. We finally decided on Tiana, which is the name of the princess on the Princess and the Frog. But we call her Tia for short.

Hunter woke up with some wild hair!! Unfortunately it is a little dark in the picture.

Hunter opening up his new dump truck and bull dozer. He is such a little boy. His favorite things are Trucks, tractors and "vroom, vrooms" (anything with a motor such as four wheelers and motorcycles and his new power wheels jeep)

Brooklyn is such a cheese!! All smiles after checking out her stocking.

We had a lot of fun!!

Making our Snowman

We finally made a snowman this year. I can't remember when the last time I made one was. We got a lot of snow during one storm so Brian took the kids out to build their first snowman. The kids had a lot to fun making it with their daddy.
Brian stuck Hunter up on top of the snowman. He is such a little dare devil.
He wasn't scared at all.
Brooklyn had to get in on the picture-taking.

Hunter was so excited to show me his stick he had found.
Group picture with the snowman. But I can never seem to get everyone looking at me at the same time. Oh well, they all had a lot of fun.

Elmo's World

Hunter loves Elmo but it comes on so early that he doesn't get to watch it very often. So my mom has started to record it so he can watch it when she watches him during the week. I used to start to sing the La La part of the Elmo's song and he would finish by singing "Elmo's world" which sounded more like "Elmo's WO" Now he will even sing the La La's all by himself. I love to watch him grow up. He is such a joy. In this video he was getting ready to eat breakfast and had an Elmo place mat. So he started to sing his Elmo song. At the end he realizes that his cereal is sitting just out of sight of the camera and decides that he wanted his cereal by yelling for it.
